POPULATION
The Green Dot Environmental (GDE) pledge is to minimize the impact we are having
on our environment by addressing the 2 most pressing environmental
issues:
carbon emissions created by the burning of fossil
fuels, and the absence of comprehensive energy conservation.
GDE also works locally and has created the Annual
5K for Earthday, a
family friendly 5K run/walk which culminates at the Humbolt Park
boat house with an open air Green Living Expo. This event is designed to promote simple and proactive measures
that increase awareness resulting in sizable
energy conservation. AUTOMOBILE
As there is no quick and easy solution to the output of carbon emissions derived from fuel powered
automobiles, GDE's answer to this challenge is The PSI Project™.
A simple solution to reducing the impact that your automobile has on
the environment is to inflate your tires to the proper pound per square inch
(PSI), per manufacturers instructions. This easy solution will
lessen fuel consumption, thus reducing your fuel cost by an average
of $450.00 annually.
RESIDENTIAL /
COMMERCIAL
Many residential and commercial spaces are likely to have many energy deficiencies
such as air-infiltration,
which largely attribute to unneeded energy expenses. With a rigorous
energy inspection we design your Energy
Conservation Options (ECO), a comprehensive outline which
corrects any and all defects within a defined space.
GDE will focus on cost-effective weatherization through retrofitting
which will lead to a reduction in energy spending. On average these corrections will lead to a reduction of heating and cooling costs by at least 25%,
typically resulting in savings of $1,000.00 annually in most homes and businesses. In addition, carbon dioxide emissions and the
demand placed on national electric and gas systems are reduced. |
